Family Run!

We are the old school house day nursery. Previously owned by Beverly and Phil Neil. Those who new them will remember the amazing owners and  friends of the community they were. Bev and Phil very deserving retired in June 2023 and the nursery was taken over by Dolly and Nicola (sisters) alongside their partners Luke and Peter. Dolly had worked in the nursery since 2012 building relationships with the community and looking after a lot of children in the area and surrounding area.

Dolly and Nicola work within the setting daily whilst Peter and Luke support to the fullest whilst still resuming in their careers, Luke has been in the NHS supporting people from around the UK with their mental health for over 10 years and Peter runs a trusted and successful landscaping business, which we benefit greatly from as you can see in our photos! He is also super hands on within the setting when it comes to projects and DIY. Our Journey so far has been amazing and we will forever continue to support our community by offering the best possible care, support and love to your families.

Mission statement

The ethos of a nursery is more than just a mission statement—it’s the guiding philosophy that shapes every interaction, decision, and experience within the setting. It reflects our nursery’s core beliefs about children, education, care, and community.

Caring for children who are both confident and happy isn’t just a parenting goal—it’s a foundation for lifelong wellbeing. Confidence helps children take risks, express themselves, and bounce back from setbacks. Happiness fuels curiosity, resilience, and emotional health. Together, they create thriving, emotionally intelligent young people. We as a setting promise to support this in a multitude of ways and together, we can give your child the tools they need to be who they want to be and make their dreams reality.

How will we put this into action?

  • Positive reinforcement

Celebrate effort, not just outcomes. This builds a growth mindset

  • Emotional literacy

Teach children to name and express feelings. Tools like emotion cards or gratitude journals can help

  • Nature-based learning

Forest School approaches, for example, connect children with the outdoors, boosting both confidence and calm

  • Safe, loving environments

Consistent routines, warm relationships, and responsive care create emotional security
